Artificial knee joint replacement ideally utilizes implants designed to fit the shape and condition of individual patients’ knees, but these take time to produce and are extremely expensive. At our hospital, we produce disposable surgical instruments tailor-made for each patient to optimize the ability of patient’s knee joints to receive implants when performing replacement surgery. The world’s most advanced orthopedic surgery departments are currently attempting to pioneer the use of intraoperative computer navigation systems in artificial knee joint replacement surgery designed for individual patients, and additional use of tailor-made surgical instruments means that our hospital can perform surgery with even greater precision. Our hospital is currently the only hospital in Japan to have introduced this technique, which enables the use of artificial knee joints with long-term stability. Patients must undergo preoperative MRI/CT scanning to enable the production of these surgical instruments, but this can be carried out not only at our hospital, but also in our collaborating institution in Beijing, the Sino-Japan United Orthopedics Clinic (in the China Rehabilitation Research Center).
We also actively utilize minimally invasive surgery (MIS), which imposes less of a burden on the patient both during and after surgery, in the treatment of all types of traumatic, joint, and spinal disorders in the field of orthopedic surgery. In addition to artificial knee and hip joint replacement, we also perform endoscopic discectomy for intervertebral disc hernia, endoscopic laminectomy for spinal canal stenosis, and endoscopic vertebral fusion for disorders such as lumbar spondylolisthesis and lumbar instability. All of these surgical techniques require the latest diagnostic devices and the highest levels of skill.

Before coming to Japan, you will need to undergo MRI/CT scanning according to our instructions at the Sino-Japan United Orthopedics Clinic (in the China Rehabilitation Research Center) in Beijing, where doctors and medical staff from our hospital are based, to assess whether you can be accepted for treatment. After acceptance, the image data will be sent to Japan, and disposable surgical instruments will be tailor-made for you. This process takes around 4 weeks. You should come to Japan once the instruments are ready.
